Sensory Activity: Easy Nontoxic Homemade Slime

DIY Kids Mommy and Me Sensory Activity

I love finding new sensory activities to do with my 2 kiddos. My 3 year old LOVES slime so we decided to try making some homemade, Borax-free, colorful slime. It is cheap, easy, and fun!

Ingredients:

Fiber supplement (make sure Psyllium is the main ingredient)

Kool-Aid

Water

Step 1: Add 1 tbs of fiber supplement to microwave safe bowl (If you want your slime less sticky add a little more fiber)

Step 2: Add a packet of Kool-aid in color of choice

Step 3: Add 1 cup water and whisk together then microwave for about 5 minutes (keep an eye on the mixture as it will bubble up)

Step 4: Let cool! It will be very hot in the middle. Once cooled down, transfer to air tight containers and have FUN playing!

TIPS:

More fiber and less water gives you a more non-sticky flubbery slime. More water and less fiber gives you a very ooey and sticky slime. I played around with each batch until we found the consistency we liked.

Make sure you give it enough time to cool! I dug in too fast and it did not feel good having hot slime stuck to me!

Hope you enjoy this fun activity!

xoxo, Kelley
